1. Institutional Governance
The African Caribbean Institute of Jamaica / Jamaica Memory Bank (ACIJ/JMB) is a division of the Institute of Jamaica (IOJ). We operate as an agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment & Sports. Our mission to document and preserve Jamaica's heritage is conducted in full compliance with the Data Protection Act 2020.

As a research institution, we handle unique categories of information, including:
"Personal data collected during field interviews, oral history recordings, and cultural documentation is treated with the highest level of ethical sensitivity to protect the contributors of our national memory."
