(ICH)
Jamaica is a signatory to UNESCO’s 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. This is a commitment to preserving and safeguarding elements of Jamaica’s ICH – the practices, representations, expressions, knowledge and skills that we recognize as part of our cultural heritage. The ACIJ/JMB is the designated national focal point for the implementation of the 2003 convention, and one of our main tasks in this regard is the creation and maintenance of an inventory of the ICH of Jamaica.
