Current Situation: ACIJ/JMB current network setup uses active directory and allows for users to save all their files to the network server via a roaming profile. This is beneficial as it allows users to have access to all their files regardless of the computer they’re using. Additionally, if the network server is backed up, then users’ data will be backed up as well. However, the disadvantage of roaming profiles is that all the users’ information is stored on the server and if access to the server is disrupted then data becomes inaccessible, unless users can use cache copy which is stored locally. Additionally, the storage space allotted to each user is limited to available storage on the server which may not be enough over time.
